Jadon Sancho remains Manchester United’s top priority in the transfer window.
Jadon Sancho insists he is happy at Borussia Dortmund amid interest from Manchester United this summer.
Sancho, 20, is a priority target for United who are yet to meet Dortmund’s valuation of their star players.
Dortmund chief Michael Zorc issued an update on Sancho’s future earlier this week stating that he expects the England international to remain at the Bundesliga side. Zorc also dropped a bombshell by revealing the club had extended his contract last summer meaning his deal will expire in 2023, not 2022.
MEN Sport understand United are frustrated by the slow pace of negotiations with Dortmund through the agent Marco Lichtsteiner. United sources have described it as ‘unusual’ of Dortmund to have hired an intermediary to act on their behalf and claim Sancho’s wage demands and agents fees continue to be an ‘obstacle’. United are determined not to repeat mistakes of the past in overpaying the agent.
Sancho travelled to Switzerland for Dortmund’s pre-season training camp after spending the weekend in the UK to attend a friend’s house party.
The winger was included in the starting XI for their friendly against Altach and insisted he was happy at the club following the game.
“I like to play with this special bunch,” he told BVB-TV . “We now have some very special players with us.
“I am very happy to be on the pitch with them. Once I was in their situation. I know what it is like to move from the next generation to the professionals. I try to guide them.
“To show you what is good and what is not good.”
